Cheri Richards is well experienced in Commercial Real Estate Accounting. She has 20+ years experience in the General Contracting and Property Management industry. Cheri began her career as a co-op bookkeeper for a small construction company during college.
She later moved to a larger construction company whose main focus was the Delta and Comair expansion at the Greater Cincinnati Airport where she served as Accounting Manager.
While completing her degree at the University of Cincinnati, Cheri joined Corporex as their Cost Accountant. Upon graduation Cheri worked in the homebuilding industry for Fischer Homes as a Senior Accountant. She eventually found her niche in Commercial Real Estate Accounting as Staff Accountant at North American Properties. She was responsible for reporting for multi-family, retail and office buildings. After several years, she found the opportunity to move back into the Developer/General Contactor business as the Assistant Controller, then Controller for Bear Creek Capital.
As the Real Estate market became depressed, Cheri spent four years as Senior Accountant at Healthcare Waste Systems. The company eventually merged with Stericycle and the accounting moved to Chicago. Cheri again found herself drawn back in to the excitement and challenge that comes with working in the Property Management/Commercial Real Estate business. Cheri has now found her niche on our team at Lee & Associates RICORE-RICORE as Staff Accountant for our numerous clients including Sabal and Colony Capital.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and their two children, (her grandchildren). She enjoys gardening, hiking and boating in the Ohio State Parks. Cheri is active in several charity events for homeless animals, and works with the Rusty Ball each year on their fundraising endeavors. She enjoys traveling and vacationing at the beach with her family, and weekend travel excursions with friends.
