TQL, a freight brokerage firm and Greater Cincinnati’s largest private company with more than $2 billion in revenue last year, moved about 120 employees to Batavia from a Milford office, located at 502 Techne Center Drive. The new Batavia office, located 4101 Founders Blvd., opened in December. Another 80 employees from TQL’s Techne Center office are expected to move over starting Feb. 13.

Mark Motz, communications specialist with TQL, said the move brings TQL employees closer to its headquarters in Union Township. The office also is larger than the space at 502 Techne Center Drive and has plenty of parking. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

The Batavia space was the original headquarters and manufacturing site for Crable Sportswear and then a division of American Modern Insurance. TQL is leasing about 25,000 square feet of space in the two-story office building. The property also has a 99,000-square-foot air-conditioned warehouse and a 138,500-square-foot high-bay warehouse space.

Peggy Duncan, vice president with JLL, represented TQL in the deal. Joe Gilligan, Stewart Devitt and Dan McDonald with Sperry Van Ness-RICORE Investment Management Inc., represented the landlord.

TQL will keep an office in Milford at 1701 Edison Drive. In addition to TQL’s headquarters at 4289 Ivy Pointe Blvd., TQL has five offices in Greater Cincinnati.

With more than 3,000 employees across the country, TQL is the second largest freight brokerage firm in the nation. The company has 27 offices in 16 states. TQL connects customers needing to move full truckload freight shipments with carriers that have the capacity to move them.
